1. Arkana hail from Cleveland, Ohio. To get us started let's begin with a quick introduction of the band.
Arkana is a brotherhood, and whether we are getting down to business or having a good time, the music is always the essence of who we are. Jeremy plays lead guitar and founded the band. Will is the vocalist and keyboard player and has been with Jeremy since near the beginning. On bass, we have Pat and there's Jacob on drums. Last but not least, our newest member is Jake on rhythm guitar.
2. What is the Arkana story up to this point? How long have you been together?
The band as it currently exists has been together for nearly three years. It went through radical line-up changes up until this point, but our first serious show as Arkana happened in 2006.
3. When Arkana was first started, what was the goal for the band?
The band's goal has been and always will be to push ourselves to shape the metal genre and to travel this road as far as we can take it.
4. How is the Metal scene in the Cleveland area? Are you getting good support?
Well, Cleveland loves metal - that's for sure... Considering the amount of time we've spent playing shows and the obstacles that have come our way, he have been getting pretty good support. We bring our A game every show - whether we play in front of an audience of two or two thousand.
5. Arkana has shared the stage with many great bands, are there any shows in particular that stand out in your mind?
There were two major shows that seem to stick out for us. The Toys For Tots show, because we got to reach out for a good cause and actually took some pictures with some children that people brought to the show (even captured a few of them thrashing around). The other one is Paganfest. It was great playing with all those bands - some of which do not have as big of a following in the US as they should. It was an honor to play with them and it was great to see that many people come out to support the show.
6. Has Arkana had a chance to play outside of Cleveland, and are there any current plans to do so?
Arkana has played a few shows outside of the Cleveland area and definitely plans to do so again. We also plan on getting some out-of-state shows together as well.
7. I always like to know, what drew each of you to the world of Metal? thats simple music ingerneral drew me to metal.
Will: I really didn't get into heavy metal like I am not until I joined this band, actually. Before then, I would say that Rammstein was a big influence that lead me here.
Jeremy: The trueness to the music and the artists who write it. It's simply the truest form of expression. That goes for all music.
Jacob: Wow... My father and my big brother. The first heavy bands I heard were Mushroomhead, Korn, and Mudvayne.
Pat: That's simple, music in general drew me to metal.
Jake: I was inspired by my brother, who introduced me to metal. After that, my friends brought me more variety and I went from there.
8. Are there any plans for an album in the future?
We hope to release our debut album sometime during Spring 2009.
9. What is one thing fans of Arkana should know about the band?
We still exist thanks to the support we get from you guys. Your support helps fuel us and keep us motivated...
10. Where do you hope to see Arkana going in the next few years?
We hope to see the band keep growing! With the continual support of our fans, we believe we can easily make that happen. We're already working on material for a second album as well - which pushes our sound and style much further, so this debut will not be the last you hear of us.1. This band is getting big, fast. How do you feel about that?
